If a player is eligible for the NHL Calder Trophy for the current draft year he is a Rookie.  

• Must be 25 years of age or less.
• Cannot have scored more than 25 points in career.

On draft night each team must have a classifed rookie on their draft list.

Any rookies contested as they are picked will be discussed by the membership and a decision will be made by the exectutive if eligibility cannot be resolved.

If there are no objections to any of the rookies picked at the conclusion of the draft, all teams are official for the current draft season.
